Gorgon & Anchor Drachm Pendant in 18kt Gold
A Gorgon and Anchor drachm [coin] Pendant in 18kt gold. The drachma was one of the world's earliest coins. Its name derives from the Greek verb meaning “to grasp,” and the early drachma had different weights in different regions. This Silver Drachm was minted at Apollonia Pontika circa 4th Century BC. On the reverse side, an upright anchor, with a crayfish and an "A " on either side. On the obverse side, a Gorgoneion with mouth open and protruding tongue.
