A Delicate Byzantine Cross Pendant
A very thin Bronze Byzantine Cross from the IV to VI Centuries AD trimmed with a delicate rope motif in 21 karat gold. This bronze cross was created by lost wax casting; additional circular embellishments were hand chiseled. The Byzantine Era ran from the 300s to the fall of Constantinople and the Eastern Roman Empire in the 1450's, at which time, the area fell to the Ottoman Empire. The vast area of Byzantium spanned from the Mediterranean coast of Italy to Eurasia. This Byzantine Cross Pendant would be a marvelous gift to yourself or someone else!
