Swedish Empire Revival Birch Wood Sofa

A Swedish Empire Revival birch wood sofa from the mid 19th century. This antique sofa from Sweden features a raised back pediment with an elongated arch that lifts at each far end into voluted tips, atop a straight back rail. Raised block shoulders are adorn with fall finials, wooden armrests are gently rolled, and turned columns embellish the pair of front front arm posts. The apron is thick and straight, each sofa side has a recessed panel. The sofa is presented upon four block style legs. The upholstery is okay but does have some staining, giving an opportunity to refresh this piece with fabric to compliment your own personal style. Ebony accents on the finials, columns, and feet are a striking compliment to the birch wood. Arm height is 28 inches.
