18th C. Italian Table w/Expandable Top
An Italian carved-wood table with transitional/fold out top from the early 20th century. This antique table from Italy features a bi-folding top that can be folded out and turned to create a more expansive table top. Flute carvings adorn the apron on all sides, and down each of the four spaded legs. When the top is lifted and opened, it doubles the size of the table allowing for additional work or dining space. The wood has a lovely old patina; a great show of its century-old age. When the table is fully opened, the measurements for the top are 53" x 41". The overhang clearance from the apron to the outer edge is 8" to 8.5". The leg clearance with top expanded is 27.5" to the floor. This 18th century Italian table, with its expandable top, would make a great piece for hosting those additional guests and overflow holiday seating!
