Spanish 19th C. Lyre Desk or Console Table
A Spanish walnut wood table with lyre legs from the 19th century. This antique table from Spain features a rectangular-shaped top which is raised upon a pair of sinuously carved trestle legs in a lyre design. The legs each have a spindle-carved post within their mid-sections, and are braced with a carved-wood stretcher (with raised accent at its center top), and a pair of spindle/turned stretcher bars bracing from the each leg upwards to the underside of the top, which fill the space beneath the table with a lovely design. This walnut wood table has a deep, rich brown with lovely patina and age, reflective of it's history. Note that there is some slight warping to the wood top (please refer to the additional images for more detail). The leg clearance between the underside of the table top and floor is approximately 30.5". This 19th century Spanish lyre-leg table is just shy of 3.5 feet in width, and would make an attractive console, entry table, or a small writing desk.
