Antique French "Harp" Console w/Marble Top
A French Louis XVI beautifully-carved wood table with marble top, from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique console from France, features a rectangular-shaped marble top (with corners emphasized and squared outwardly), atop an apron having flower petals carved about three sides and flower heads framed at each corner. The table is presented upon four slender legs, each turned and fluted with carved chandelles (candle motif). The legs are braced at underside of the table by a pair of exquisitely-carved lyre harps, which join together at the center with a raised floral medallion at the center. The wood has a tan/brown finish with much of the wood showing through from beneath. The marble has an unusual color to it; comprised of varying shades of gray, warm blush, salmon, tiger red, and white veining. This late 18th century French Louis XVI console table, with marble top and striking Neoclassic carvings and Harp motif stretcher, will be an eye catching and sophisticated addition to your homes décor!
