French 19th c Console w/Original Marble Top
A French carved-wood console table with its original marble top, from the 19th century. This antique table from France features a slender, rectangular-shaped white/grey marble top, with a subtle reverse breakfront design at front, which rests upon an apron with carved with a repeating framed leaf motif about three sides, outlined in a petite square beaded trim, and has flower heads carved at each front knee. The table is presented upon a pair of turned and fluted legs at either front side (with acanthus carved wraps at their ankles), that are raised upon L-shaped platform bases (with boards connecting at back that run up along the wall to the apron above). The original white marble with grey veining has some staining (see additional images for more detail). The finish is older but not original. This table is just shy of 4.5 feet in length, with a slender depth of 16.75 inches. This 19th century French table, with Neoclassic carvings and the original marble top, will be a splendid addition to your foyer, living, or dining room.
