Late 18th C Italian Fratino Table w/Drawers
An Italian carved-wood table with lyre legs and iron stretcher from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique table from Italy, in typical "fratino" fashion, features a rectangular-shaped wood top raised upon a pair of beautifully-carved lyre shaped trestle legs, which are braced by a pair of curved forged-iron stretcher bars (together creating a lovely arch shape within the underside space of the table). The apron houses a pair of recessed-panel drawers along one long side, fitted with a single rococo style brass escutcheon keyhole at their center. The skirt is decoratively carved about all sides-making it an piece which could be floated within a room. The lyre-carved trestle legs terminate into volute feet. The wood is rich and dark with a nicely aged patina; a wonderful reflective of it's history and use. This late 18th century Italian fratino is approximately 4.5 feet wide, which gives it much versatility for function and use within your home.
