Italian Cornucopia Motif Gilt Wall Console
An Italian cornucopia motif carved and gilt wood wall console with mirrored top from the early 20th century. This antique table from Italy features its original mirrored glass top (with beautifully bowed shaped), which is raised upon an elaborately-carved and gilt fragment style pedestal made up of with a pair of elongated acanthus scrolls, and a pair of cornucopia abundant with corn, which together create a V-shaped design at the underside of the table. The carved pedestal is raised on a stacked base, which mimics the shape of the top above. The mirrored top is original to this piece. There are two brackets at the backside of the table so that it may be secured to a wall. This early 20th century Italian console table has a shallow depth of just 14.5 inches, which gives you a visually striking piece, without encroaching on much floor space- great for an entry foyer, stairway landing, or dining room!
