Late 18th C. French Console on Hooved Feet
An elegant French carved wood console table, with single drawer, from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique table from France has a shapely body with very subtle bow at top front, semi-circular projections at each front corner, and gently curved sides that give way to a lengthier backside. The apron houses a single "secret" drawer hidden along the front side (there is no pull so it's not obvious that it is indeed a drawer), and is carved in a shell motif at three sides. The table is presented upon four slender and gracefully curved legs that terminate into carved hoof feet. This late 18th century French console table, with shapely body and nicely carved accents, would be a great piece of furniture to ground a beautiful mirror (perhaps one our ours?!) or artwork hanging above.
