18th C. Italian Console w/Faux Marble Top
A French Neoclassical period carved and painted wood console table from the 18th century. This antique table from France has rectangular-shaped, hand-painted white faux-marble top (which is not original, but old as it appears to be from the 19th century) which rests upon an apron of recessing stacked molding down to a clean linear skirt, with volute carved bracket accents at each leg corner. The table is presented upon four round, fluted legs, with carved leaf wraps about their knees, which gently taper towards their feet. The newer painted finish on the table base is primarily a soft greige/taupe with darker grey accents. The backside of this table is undecorated; placement is intended to be against a wall. This Neoclassical period French console table, approximately 3.5 feet in length, will make a lovely addition to an entry foyer, dining or living area.
