French Rococo Style Mirror, Early 20th C.
A French rococo style carved and gilt/painted wood mirror from the early 20th century. This antique mirror from France features a rectangular- shaped mirror with shapely surround in a gilt wood with elaborately carved rinceaux with shell at top crest, and with shell flanked within a pair of flower heads at bottom. The shoulders and lower corners are beautifully adorn with fanning leaves and carved c-scrolls. The inner surround has a petite dentil trim molding against the mirror. The gold has a nicely aged patina and there are some subtle traces of red that show through. A pale shade of green adds a gentle touch of contrast at some of the background areas. This early 20th century French rococo-style mirror stands approximately 4.25 feet in height and is nicely sized at just shy of 3 feet wide and nearly 2.5 feet in width.Dimensions
