French Antique Fan-Carved Pier Mirror

A tall French carved wood trumeau mirror, in fan motif, from the early 20th century. This antique mirror from France features a stack molded crest top, above the traditional trumeau style panel top which is carved with a fan motif (or perhaps the rays of a rising sun) with nice rinceaux upper corner embellishments. The rectangular-shaped mirror is housed within the lower frame, with cleanly molded side trim and anchored at the bottom with a slightly projected shelf rail with nicely carved lip. The finish is mostly stripped, leaving it with a primarily natural wood grain appearance and deeper areas accented with hints of older paint. This early 20th century French pier mirror stands just shy of 5 feet in height.
