Ornate French 19th C. Mirror, 6 Ft Tall

A French Neoclassical carved and painted wood mirror, with its original glass, from the 19th century. This antique mirror from France has a rectangular-shaped frame with a simple outer surround of clean lines, and inner surround is ornate with floral carved chandelles, swirling acanthus leaves, and garlands of tulips adorning the inner perimeter of the mirror; which is outlined in a lambs tongue trim along the glass. The top of the mirror features an urn with floral bouquet and floral and leaf swags draping down on each side. The painted finish is a palette of light green, yellow, gold, and bole red. The mirror is a two-section glass, typical of the time period (due to high taxation on mirrored glass!). This ornate 19th century mirror is a good-sized piece standing approximately 6 feet in height and nearly 4 feet in width.
