Italian 5.5 Ft Tall Nicely Decorated Mirror

A large-sized Italian carved and painted wood trumeau style mirror from the 19th century. This antique mirror from Italy is rectangular-shaped, with fluted columns flanking the mirror at its entirety down each side, and a straight line of molding lines the upper crest rail. In typical trumeau design, there is an upper panel (decoratively embellished in a shell and foliate motif), atop a lower panel which houses the mirrored glass. Within the background of each panel, about the inner frame, there are carved geometric patterns which add visual interest to this piece. The overall color is grey with a pale green, and off-white accent. The mirror is likely original. This 19th century Italian mirror, with column and shell accents, is just shy of 4 feet in width, and just over 5.5 feet in height.
