French Neoclassical 3 Ft Mirror, Circa 1820
A French Neoclassical period carved-wood mirror, with its original glass and paint, from the early 19th century. This antique mirror from France, circa 1820, has a petite trumeau design, with upper plaque featuring a prominently carved floral bouquet within its center. Mirror beneath is outlined in a lambs tongue trim about the glass edges. The length of the mirror is flanked within rounded spiral columns that terminate into small round finials at feet. The lower portion of the frame is embellished with carved foliage set at center. The glass is original and has fabulous foxing throughout. The painted finish is original as well, and is mostly a creamy off-white and brown/wood. This early 19th century French Neoclassical mirror, with petite trumeau proportions, is approximately 1.75 feet in width and just shy of 3 feet tall.
