Pair Antique French Bergère Chairs
A French pair of carved-wood and upholstered occasional chairs from the early 20th century. This antique pair of Louis XVI style armchairs from France each features a beautifully carved arched back-rail flanked within a pair of finials adorning each shoulder cap. Arms rests have manchette padding and terminate into tightly scroll-carved knuckles. The skirting is comprised of the same molded trim outlining the chair frames, with flower heads carved at front corners. The chairs are raised on flute-carved rounded legs which taper gently towards their peg feet. This pair of early 20th century French Louis XVI style bergère chairs are upholstered in a yellow fabric with petite florals framed within squares (older but good/usable condition) and have thick/removeable seat cushions.
