Antique French Marble Top Enfilade Buffet
A French wooden sideboard, with flute-carved accents and original marble top, from the late 19th to early 20th century. This antique buffet console from France has a marble top with canted front corners and a pair of outward notched accents at front (which follow the shape of the cabinet below), set atop a case which houses three recessed-panel front drawers over four panel-front drawers that open to reveal abundant storage within. Fluted carvings and column posts embellish the cabinet at the front side, at canted front posts, and rear side posts. This piece is nicely presented upon fluted spade legs, which terminate into brass feet. Each drawer and door is fitted with Neoclassical brass escutcheon, in a lovely bow-tie ribbon motif. This buffet retains its original marble (which is quite heavy!) in a grey, white, and ginger color palette. The cabinet has a custom creamy beige/taupe painted finish with a subtle blue/gray accent which highlights some of the various trimmings. This late 19th century French enfilade, just shy of 7 feet in length, offering great storage within and serving or display space atop; perhaps in a dining area as a buffet, or in a living room as an attractive sideboard.
