Late 18th C. English Chest w/Great Hardware
An English painted wood chest of four drawers from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique chest from England has a rectangular-shaped top, over a case which houses four drawers, and gently scalloped apron, and is presented upon four block style wooden feet. Each drawer has two recessed panels, each fitted with fabulous brass pulls within their center, and between each panel at center of drawer is an oval shaped escutcheon. The second drawer down in nice and deep (perfect for thick sweaters!). The wood has a navy/slate finish with areas of wood showing through from beneath. This piece resembles a campaign chest and has a nice masculine form. This late 18th century English commode, with its paneled drawers and great hardware, will make a beautiful and functional storage piece.
