Early 19th C. Italian 5-Drawer Side Chest

An Italian wooden five-drawer side chest from the early 19th century. This antique chest from Italy features a slightly overhanging top with canted front corners, atop a tall and slender case which houses five stacked drawers, flanked within canted front side posts (which continue the design from the top, all the way down onto the feet. Drawers are each fitted with a nicely adorn escutcheons set at center (likely replacements and not original hardware). It is presented upon four squared and tapering feet. The tall and slender proportions of this early 19th century Italian chest make it a great decorative storage option with endless potential, which would also would well for storing lingerie or linens.
