French Serpentine Commode, Blue w/Gold Trim

A French shapely serpentine painted wood commode of three drawers from the 19th century. This antique chest from France features a curvy-shaped serpentine body, a slightly overhung top which reflects the shape beneath; carrying through down each drawer front, with cleanly molded skirt line and presented upon four squared and tapering legs. Each of the three full-sized, graduated drawers are fitted with brass rococo style hardware and a single escutcheon within their center. Color palette is primarily varying shades of blue, with a gold accent trim about the top edge. Finish is not new, but not original to the piece. This wonderful 19th French serpentine chest-of-drawers will make an eye-catching case piece, with it's soothing blue color and fluid shape, perfect for your bedroom or living area!
