Early 19th c. French Raised 2-Drawer Chest
A French nicely raised chest with original brass hardware, from the early 19th century. This Neoclassical period chest from France has a rectangular-shaped top with softly rounded front corners, above a case which houses a pair of drawers, and nicely scalloped skirting along the front and sides. It is raised upon four slender cabriole legs which taper towards their feet. The drawers are fitted with their original brass Rococo style hardware. There is a new custom painted finish in an earthy taupe/grey with highlighted trim accent. This early 19th century French raised chest would make a great addition to a bedroom, or perhaps in a powder room as a great place to hide toiletries and linens.
