French Neoclassical Inspired Side Chests

A pair of French design inspired, elaborately carved and painted wood nightstands, with pull-out shelf at top. These contemporary/vintage American-made smaller-sized chests have been carved with French Neoclassical style features. Each commode has a rectangular-shaped top, with canted front corners, which rests atop an elaborately-carved case that houses a slender (and discreetly hidden) pull-out shelf up beneath the top ledge, atop a two drawers, flanked within canted and fluted front side posts. The drawers are beautifully outlined in a ribbon-style trim and each drawer facade has a recessed panel with lamb's tongue trim and fitted with Neoclassical style gold hardware. The ribbon trim continues along all sides of the skirting, and the cases are presented upon four spade and flute-carved feet, with front pair being set at an angle to mimic the canted lines above. There is a newer, custom painted finish with warm beige, taupe, grey and creamy tones. This pair of French style commodes are a great smaller size, allowing them to work beautifully as a pair of nightstands or side chests for a sofa.
