Late 18th C. Italian Finely Carved Chest
A fine Italian two-drawer serpentine carved-wood chest from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. This antique chest from Italy has a subtle serpentine design, with case that houses three drawers that feature exquisitely detailed carvings about their fronts and fitted with Neoclassical hardware. The front and rear side posts are fluted, each side has a raised-panel design, and the skirting is nicely-carved on three sides with a flower medallion anchoring the front/center. The chest is presented upon four spaded legs. The lighter to medium tone wood has a complimentary cream accent which highlights various trim and edging. This Italian Neoclassical chest, with its serpentine shape and elaborate carvings, will make a fabulous storage and display option for an entry foyer, bed or living room within your home.
