Early 18th C Italian Diamond Panel Credenza

A stately Italian carved walnut sideboard, with diamond panel accents, from the early 18th century. This antique buffet cabinet from Italy has a rectangular-shaped, and slightly overhanging top with underside carved in an egg-and-dart trim, over the case that houses three smaller-sized recessed panel drawers, set side by side, atop three diamond paneled doors. The drawers and doors are flanked within four diamond panel carved pilasters that step out from the body. This chest has a heavily stack molded base, with bracket style feet at front between the pilasters. Please note that there are some old/prior replacements and repairs at the top rear boards, some early insect damage to the wood, and areas with chips and wood loss; wear commensurate with the age of this piece. Otherwise, the rich walnut has a fabulous old patina which can only be obtained from its centuries old age! This early 18th century Italian console cabinet, just over 7.5 feet in width, will make a gorgeous dining room buffet, or living room credenza.
