Beautiful 18th C. Cassettiera w/Putti

An Italian carved wood chest adorn with putti accents from the 18th century. This antique cassettiera (chest of drawers) from Italy features an egg-and-dart carved trim at the underside of the top edge, and a pair of side posts which are beautifully carved with a putto and acanthus leaf motif, flanking three full-sized drawers. Each drawer front is decorated with a pair of raised plaque style panels with a more square shaped panel at center. A carved string of garland wraps the perimeter edge of each drawer front, and a garland carving on the case, adds visual separation between each drawer. The chest is presented on bracket style feet. There wood has been stripped, and a new custom pale grey trim color has been added. This 18th century Italian carved wood chest is a magnificent piece of furniture, and would make an impressive addition to your bedroom or any living space within your home!
