Italian Painted Console Table, 19th C.
A carved and painted Italian wood console table from the 19th century. This antique table from Italy features a rectangular-shaped top (with a very subtle serpentine style front), with apron that houses a drawer along its front side, and presented upon four shapely legs. The drawer is adorned with geometric trimmings; an oval medallion at center with carved diamond, flanked by a pair of triangular embellishments, and the lower edge is carved so that it gives this table a nicely designed skirting along the table front. The legs are braced with an x-stretcher which carries the oval and diamond shaped center plaque at their crossing, as is found on the drawer front. The table has a newer custom grey finish with gold trim accents. Note that the backside of this piece is un-adorned so best use would be placed against a wall. This 19th century Italian table would make a fabulous console table; perhaps used in an entry foyer, with handy drawer as a quick place to stash away keys and mail!Dimensions
