Pompeii Table w/Metal Base & 3 ft Glass Top

A French Grand Tour inspired occasional table with "Pompeii" metal base and glass top. This vintage table from France is topped with round-shaped glass top, approximately 3 feet in diameter, which is supported upon a metal base with rounded apron adorn in a motif of horned skulls and swagged garlands. There are three slender animal legs, with paw feet, each supporting a sphinx with raised large wings, raised upon a stacked trefoil platform base. The legs are connected by a scrolling x-shaped crosspiece about the underside of the table, giving the tripod more stability. The metal has a wonderfully aged patina throughout. Note that the glass top has some scratches, and that the legs are cockeyed- so some angles will make the table appear to be leaning. This "Pompeii" Grand Tour inspired table is a unique and versatile-sized piece, which would work well as an accent or center table.
