Danish Pair Mid 19th C. Birch Armchairs
A Danish pair of birch wood armchairs, with upholstered seats, from the mid 19th century. This antique pair of accent chairs from Denmark each have a sophisticated and classic design with upper backrests adorn with a arched inlay featuring an urn at center with overspilling foliage, framed within a thin rectangular outline, and straight top rail. Gracefully curved arms have petite ebony finials where their tops adjoin the backrest, and rest upon ebony urn-shaped front arm supports. Seats have an older fabric which shows some staining; a great opportunity to refresh the upholstery so these fit your personal style and decor. The seat rail is clean, with a slender rectangular inlay outlining the front apron. The chairs are presented on four sabre legs. The birch wood has an old finish. Arm height is 25.5 inches from floor. These mid 19th century Danish armchairs, with urn inlays and ebony accents, will make a great intimate seating arrangement in a study, bedroom, or living area.
