Early 19th C. French Petite Side Chest

A French Neoclassical small-sized side chest, with brass accents, from the early 19th century. This antique Neoclassical Period commode from France has a nearly-squared wooden top above the case which houses a small drawer set with in the top frieze, and a single door beneath which is flanked within rounded columns with brass accents at their upper and lower portions. The piece is presented upon squared legs. The wood has a natural finish with a light wash accent color about the top edge and skirt perimeter. This cute-sized early 19th century French petite chest will work well where space may be limited- perhaps as a small table, or as bedside nightstand for a guest room.
