Neoclassical Period Wall-Mounted Console
A French period Neoclassical carved and painted wood wall mounted console table from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique table from France has a slender, faux-marble painted and rectangular-shaped top, over a fluted apron adorn with petite bead trim, carved flower-heads, and a garland swag embellishment at front center with flower. The table is presented upon a pair of flute-carved, round and tapering legs, with garland swags about the knees and acanthus leaf wraps about the ankles. This wonderfully painted finish is early, but not original, with a taupe/cream, blue, red and gold color palate with green and gold accents. The faux marble top is likely a later finish. Please note that this table is mean to be secured to a wall. This period Neoclassical French wall console, just shy of 3.5 feet in width, would make a fabulous entry or hall table.
